Message	:they normally will continue to make noise after the car is warm. depends. If the lifters have bled down because they're worn it would only take a second to pump back up once oil pressure is applied. If the check valve was stuck open, it would continue to make noise after startup "Only lasts a second" pretty much rules out VTC gears, Piston slap, oil pickup is bent/pan is bent, or other oil starvation issues.
